The Analytical Psychology Club presents:
The Source of Imagination in Celtic Mythology
Presented by Joe McNair, Ph.D.
The Plain of Silver leads us to a place of enchantment, magic, and vision. It is the place we enter naturally at twilight, when the worlds mesh and
meld at the between light. This is the Plain that restores us to Memory. The task of the Celtic poet is to use his or her skill to bring the soul to the
point of vision, rest and stillness. The music of this healing skill is realized in the three strains: the Laughter Strain, which raises spirits; the Sorrow Strain, which releases tears; and the Sleep Strain, which brings rest to troubled souls. We will have a look at the difference between a folktale and a fairytale and how one can see them manifest in analytical work.
Prerequisites: Humor and Imagination. Power Point Images provided.
