Series: Religious Nature of the Psyche:
Myth, Ritual, Symbol and Meaning - Part 3 of 7
Jung, Alchemy and Jewish Mysticism
Presented by Susan Vorhand, Ph.D.
Resonating concepts exist between Jung's interpretation of Alchemy and that of Jewish Mysticism. This presentation will discuss these parallels within Alchemy, Kaballah and Jungian psychology and their perspectives on paths to reparation and individuation. Rather than consider suffering, brokenness and struggle as detrimental, this presentation demonstrates how these are part of the journey towards individuation and transformation.
Course Objectives:
- Describe the relationship between Jungian Psychology, Alchemy and Jewish Mysticism
- Discuss how each is a path towards self-transformation
- Identify the "mosaic within" as it relates to the process of individuation
