In this seminar, we will explore some of the basic structures which underlie many fairy tales and will trace them to the archetypal dimension of the
collective unconscious. Using the method of amplification developed by Jung and von Franz, we will work together to interpret the deeper meaning of a fairy tale. Enrollment will be limited to twenty-five participants to facilitate an
understanding of this method’s application.
Course Objectives:
- Describe some common themes which underlie many fairy tales
- Describe how to apply the technique of amplification to fairy tales
- Give an example of how this theory of amplification can lead to an integration of the personality
