As a process which utilizes drawing, writing or sandplay to symbolically
engage the unconscious, active imagination can be both fascinating as well as intimidating. Collage, in which an individual chooses images and then
organizes and pastes them together to form a picture, is also guided by the Self and is only completed when the conscious ego consents to bring all of the
images together. In this workshop we will explore the medium of collage as a way to connect to the unconscious. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own collages in a quiet meditative space with time at the end for sharing feelings and insights with the group.
Course Objectives:
- Describe Jung's concept of active imagination
- Describe how collage can be a form of active imagination
- Describe the role of the Self in organizing unconscious experience
