In the series Dreams:
Presented by Barry Miller, Ph.D.
Nature uses the erotic to express its demands not only for biological needs but for
psychological evolution as well. When these images appear in dreams, it becomes
essential that the individual develop a
capacity to experience the erotic as symbolic of psyche’s dynamic communication of its history, present condition, and future possibilities.
Course Objectives:
- Give an example of how the symbolic aspect of the erotic manifests in dreams
- Describe how the erotic content of the dream can reflect an historical as well as a current life situation, and delineate future psychological development in the individual
- Demonstrate how this approach to dream interpretation can be applied to clinical practice
