The Analytical Psychology Club presents:
Presented by Delia Doherty, L.C.S.W., Shari Lee, M.A. and Nancy Mozur
Art can excite and incite. It can be an expression of
feelings or thoughts, mirroring the culture of a particular age as well as the anticipation and vision of what is to come for the future. Artists are the eyes outside the
collective through which the unconscious reveals itself. In today’s world, art has additionally served material
concerns often flavored by cynicism and a lack of soul — it has become a reflection of the current times we live in. These three artists will share and discuss their experience with the creative process and imagination. What gets stirred in the studio and psyche will be explored.
Delia Doherty, L.C.S.W., is a psychiatric Social Worker with the LA County Dept. of Mental Health and a candidate in training at the C.G. Jung Institute. Born in New York City, she studied art there and became part of the vibrant underground scene working in performance. Her interests in sacred space, ritual and theater enliven her studies. Shari Lee, M.A., is a former intern at the Jung Institute and a graduate of Pacifica Graduate Institute. Her interest in Jung, psychology, and what engenders imagination arose as an undergraduate in Fine Art and Art History at University of California at Santa Cruz. Her penchant for finding, collecting, juxtaposing, and reassembling objects, images, and ideas continues to challenge and inspire her creative process. Nancy Mozur is an artist and art writer residing in Santa Monica who has exhibited her work nationally. She currently is a trustee on the Board of the Sam Francis Foundation. She manages the C.G. Jung Bookstore in Los Angeles and serves as an art consultant for Psychological Perspectives.
